September 14 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Race: 4th Annual Jefferson City Tunnel to Towers 5K Run/Walk

Distance: 5 K

Date: 09/14/2019

Time: 09:00 am

Location: Jefferson City, Missouri

Race Description
The Jefferson City Tunnel to Towers 5K honors the first responders who gave all on 9/11/01, in NYC at the World Trade Center, as well as our military and first responders that continue to serve and sacrifice every day to keep us safe. The T2T 5K is a symbolic run, honoring Stephen Siller a NYC firefighter, who was off duty and was unable to drive from Brooklyn to Lower Manhattan, so he parked at the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel, put on his 60+ pounds of gear, and ran through the tunnel to the twin towers, where he lost his life along with 342 other firefighters and 60 police officers. Our event has local firefighters and police officers that run in their turnout gear and uniforms along side the general public. Take this opportunity and register today. Say thank you in person to those who are willing to sacrifice all.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a non profit 4 Star Charity, where 93 cents of every Dollar raised goes to the programs supported by the foundation. The banner programs are: 1) The Smart Home Program, building smart homes for our most catastrophically injured veterans; 2) The Fallen First Responder Home Program, paying off mortgages for the families of first responders killed in the line of duty; and 3) The Gold Star Family Home Program, paying off mortgages or providing homes for families of veterans killed in action.
