Race Description
Please join the 5th Annual Frost 5K to support Emmy Kramer and her loving family. Emmy was born with DiGeorge Syndrome which has made her devastatingly ill since birth. Despite being airlifted 17 times, transferred by ambulance 34 times and spending almost 1,350 days inpatient at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Emmy has survived! Her list of health burdens, diseases, and life-threatening events is so long but includes constant infections, severe immunodeficiency, strokes, massive heart defect (Tetralogy of Fallot) requiring two open heart surgeries so far, interstitial lung disease, granulomatous disease of the lungs and kidneys, swallow dysfunction requiring use of a feeding tube, and severe osteoporosis of her bones and on and on. Despite these burdens, constant life-threatening events and the grim outlook that her medical team predicted for her, Emmy continues to thrive! Emmy takes each day as it comes and keeps not only showing her incredible will to survive but also is able to find the joy and blessings of those days! Emmy is truly the Ultimate Survivor!!
