Race Description
Introducing our inaugural Great Escape Kids and Youth Triathlons. These events take place Saturday, June 10 at Ellis-Porter Riverside Park in Jefferson City. Race start is 7 p.m. This family event kicks off a weekend of races with The Great Escape sprint, sprint relay, super sprint and duathlon taking place at the park Sunday morning, June 11.
Courses for the Great Escape Kid’s Tri are not yet final, but most of each race will be within the park. The swim portion will be in the 50-meter Ellis-Porter pool. Distances for the kid’s triathlon for ages 5-8 will be approximately: swim .50 meter; bike 1.50-1.75 miles; run .50 mile. Distances for the youth triathlon for ages 9-12 will be approximately: swim 100 meter; bike 3-3.25 miles; run 1.25-1.50 miles.
